Who We Work With
The IFPA works with other organisations, networks and alliances to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights in Ireland and across the world. We are affiliated to the following international and national organisations:
International
- The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a global service provider and leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights. The IFPA is a Member Association of the IPPF European Network.
- The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is an international development agency that promotes the right of every individual to exercise their basic human rights, including those that relate to the most intimate and fundamental aspects of life. The IFPA is UNFPA’s collaborating partner in Ireland and hosts the annual Irish launch of UNFPA’s flagship report State of World Population.
- As the Secretariat of the All Party Oireachtas Interest Group on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Development, the IFPA is affiliated to the European Parliamentary Forum on for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF), a network of All Party Groups from across Europe that are committed to promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights at home and worldwide.
- The IFPA is a member of Countdown 2030 Europe, a consortium of 16 leading European organisations working to ensure sexual and reproductive health and rights in developing countries.
National
- The HSE Sexual Health and Crisis Pregnancy Programme (SHCPP), tasked with addressing sexual health and crisis pregnancy in Ireland, supports the IFPA’s nationwide pregnancy counselling service. The IFPA also works with the SHCPP to implement the National Sexual Health Strategy and is a member of the SHCPP Communications and Advisory Groups.
- The IFPA is a member of the HPV Alliance, a group of 40 organisations that have come together to present the facts about the HPV vaccine.
- The IFPA is a registered practitioner with CervicalCheck, the National Cervical Screening Programme, and provides free cervical screening to almost 3,000 women annually.
- The IFPA is a member of Dóchas, the association of Irish non-governmental development organisations who are committed to tackling poverty and inequality worldwide. The IFPA is also a signatory of the Dóchas Code of Conduct on Images and Messaging.
