IFPA Departments

Medical Department:

IFPA Medical Service operates two family planning clinics, one in Cathal Brugha Street in Dublin city centre and one in the Square Shopping Centre in Tallaght. Both clinics offer a range of sexual and reproductive health services to private and medical card clients.

IFPA Medical services are also responsible for:

• Ensuring that the standard of medical care given in the IFPA clinics are of the highest standards
• Organising training courses for doctors and nurses leading to a certificate in contraception
• Overseeing the training of doctors and nurses in the clinics.

Counselling Department:

The IFPA Counselling Service provides a safe and completely confidential space for anyone who needs to explore their feelings around their crisis pregnancy and the options they feel are open to them. IFPA Centres offering professional crisis pregnancy counselling are located in Cork, Dublin City, Dundalk, Galway, Gorey, Letterkenny, Limerick, Monaghan, Sligo, Tallaght and Waterford.

Education & Training Department:

The IFPA Education and Training Department provides a selection of specialist training courses and education resources for people working in the area of sexuality education, for parents and community groups.

Advocacy & Communications Department:

The IFPA Advocacy and Communications Department is responsible for all media queries, public events and the development of the IFPA's policy position on all aspects of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Ireland and internationally.
